On August 22, 2025, the leadership of the Civil Society Human Rights Advocacy Platform had the honor of receiving Mr. Christopher Hoffman, the newly assigned Political Officer at the U.S. Embassy near Monrovia.
The visit provided an opportunity for open dialogue on pressing human rights issues in Liberia. Discussions centered on the key concerns raised in the U.S> state Department’s 2024 Human Rights Report on Liberia, with particular emphasis on:
- The urgent need to establish a War and Economic Crimes Cour, ensuring the process is transparent and robust.
- Strengthening collaboration between the U.S. Embassy and Civil Society Organization.
- Enhancing coordination in the promotion and protection of human rights across Liberia.
The Platform expressed its commitment to working closely with national and international partners in advancing justice, accountability, and human rights for all Liberians.
